selected Experience
The projects below represent professional experience completed over 26 years of architectural practice prior to founding The MIN Studio. Roles included project architecture, project management, design coordination, technical documentation, and contract administration.
First Heartland Companies
A two‑story headquarters designed for First Heartland Companies, a multi‑generation family‑run financial firm. The first floor was tailored to FHC’s daily operations, while the second floor was planned as flexible space for future tenants or the company’s own growth. As a legacy building intended to be passed down within the family, the design focuses on durability, clarity, and long‑term adaptability, supporting FHC’s mission of providing integrated, reliable solutions to independent financial professional.
Nu-Calgon
Nu‑Calgon required a significantly larger facility to support its expanding line of specialty chemical products for the HVACR aftermarket. The new building consolidates production, warehousing, and distribution into a modern, high‑capacity environment designed for efficiency, safety, and long‑term operational growth. The facility supports the storage and handling of coil cleaners, leak sealants, refrigeration oils, water‑treatment products, and other specialty chemicals, with infrastructure tailored to the company’s rapid order‑processing and nationwide distribution model. The design emphasizes clear circulation, controlled environments, and durable systems that align with Nu‑Calgon’s role as a leading supplier in the HVACR industry.
Paddy O's Expansion
A 10,000 square foot expansion and 4,500 square foot renovation to the iconic Paddy O’s bar and event venue in downtown St. Louis, located steps from Busch Stadium. The project adds a new second‑floor open‑air deck, an enclosed first‑floor bar and lounge, and upgrades to the existing building to support larger crowds and private events. The design blends new construction with the character of the original space, including a custom millwork bar crafted to match the historic aesthetic of the existing venue. The renovation enhances guest experience, operational flow, and event capacity while preserving the atmosphere that defines Paddy O’s.
Bramblett Hills Apartments
A 220,000‑square‑foot, 204‑unit apartment community consisting of seventeen three‑story residential buildings, detached parking garages, a clubhouse, swimming pool, and community center. The project emphasizes efficient unit planning, accessibility, and construction economy. All units were designed to be equal in size and fully accessible, with stacked layouts that minimized plumbing shifts and structural complexity. This approach produced large, market‑competitive units that leased rapidly within months of opening.
Industrial/Storage Building (Design Concept)
An innovative industrial storage facility concept designed for a developer seeking versatile lease options for tenants. Strategically located just off a major highway, this accessible site perfectly aligns with industrial needs, reflecting commitment to functional and efficient solutions that meet the dynamic needs of warehouse distributors.
StoryPoint Senior Living & Memory Care Center
StoryPoint Macomb is a senior living and memory care community designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and residential environment for its residents. The building blends assisted living and specialized memory care within a warm, accessible layout that supports both independence and daily care needs. Common spaces, dining areas, and outdoor courtyards were planned to encourage connection and ease of movement, while private suites and secure memory care zones offer calm, familiarity, and intuitive wayfinding. The overall design reflects StoryPoint’s mission to create supportive environments where seniors can live with dignity, comfort, and a strong sense of community.
